MARK ANDY PERFORMANCE SERIES RECEIVES HD FLEXO CERTIFICATION
Mark Andy Inc. continues to be recognized as a forerunner in narrow-web flexo innovation. At Labelexpo Europe this year, Mark Andy was the first in-line flexo press manufacturer to receive full HD Flexo certification from EskoArtwork. HD Flexo is a new process for making digital flexo plates. According to Esko, the improved plate making process delivers higher dot quality and prints more consistently than standard digital flexo plates. To achieve certification, presses are print tested and qualified to ensure that HD process is adhered to with a high level of repeatability.
Alexander Schmidt, print demonstrator for Mark Andy Europe, successfully completed the strenuous set of requirements for HD Flexo certification of the P7 in late August. He and Mark Andy were presented the credential during the exhibition by Jan Buchwietz, senior product manager digital flexo, from EskoArtwork.
“Mark Andy is excited to have completed the HD Flexo certification program,” says Greg Palm, VP of sales and marketing. “We are even more proud to be the first of the flexo machine makers to qualify as well. The new Performance Series P7 was designed specifically for high quality printing, coupled with extreme productivity and efficiency. The future of flexo is bright for this machine.”
Earlier this year the Mark Andy Performance Series line of presses received the 2011 Technical Innovation Award from the Flexographic Technical Association, acknowledging “companies and/or individuals whose visions and perseverance bring new and innovative products and technologies to the flexographic marketplace.” Since its debut in 2009, the Performance Series line of flexo machines has taken the industry by storm, selling more than 110 machines and receiving global industry awards and certifications for high print quality.
